The UK Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson has commissioned a report into the support available to military families, considering long-term partners as well as spouses and civil partners and also children and dependents. The study aims to establish the adequacy of the current support on offer and will be authored by Andrew Selous MP, formerly of the Honourable Artillery Company and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
“As a nation, we rely on the strength of our Armed Forces to keep us safe,” Selous said. “The nation in turn, has a duty to support and strengthen service families to help them perform a challenging role to the best of their ability.”
