SFC Energy AG (F3C:DE, ISIN: DE0007568578), a leading provider of hybrid power solutions to the stationary and mobile power generation markets, announces receipt of another follow-up order of the Bundeswehr’s Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technologies and Usage (BAAINBw). The Office ordered EMILY fuel cells for supplying off-grid power to devices on board of vehicles, as well as SFC Power Managers and accessories. The order has a total volume of approximately €1.25 million.
The order is a follow-up order for EMILY 2200 fuel cell systems, following their successful deployment by BAAINBw in December 2011. The EMILY 2200 was specifically developed to meet demanding requirements in defense applications. It fully complies with military standards. The fuel cell carries a NATO stock number (NSN). The Bundeswehr uses the EMILY 2200 as power source for devices on board of defense vehicles and as field charger for soldiers in the field. In vehicles, EMILY powers the on-board systems without ever having to idle the engine. As a field charger, it dispenses with heavy, loud and inefficient Diesel generators.
The Bundeswehr also ordered the SFC Power Manager for use in vehicles. In this application, the intelligent, highly efficient device uses the on-board power for charging a variety of defense batteries and for powering radios, portable computers and other consumers. In addition to high flexibility, the Power Manager PM3G also features low weight and a very small footprint.
“This follow-up order demonstrates the decisive advantages our innovative power supplies bring to Bundeswehr missions”, says Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy. “Our highly efficient, silent, environmentally friendly fuel cells and power management systems provide reliable power to electric and electronic defense devices in the field – anywhere and anytime, vehicle-based, stationary, as a field charger, or man-portable. We are proud to contribute to more safety, flexibility and mobility for soldiers with our innovative products made and developed in Germany. Our success is not limited to Germany alone. It is also reflected in the orders we receive from international defense organisations.”
Numerous international NATO and PfP defense organisations use SFC Energy fuel cell products. SFC fuel cell and accessory products carry a NATO stock number and are approved for air transport according to UN3473.
