The Consolidated Range Enterprise (CoRE), a joint venture (JV) between InDyne, Lockheed Martin, and URS, has submitted a proposal for the US Air Force (USAF) Space Command’s Launch and Test Range System Integrated Support Contract (LISC).
LISC aims to improve efficiency and effectiveness by consolidating maintenance and sustainment services at the USAF’s two main launch ranges, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida and Vandenberg Air Force Base, California into a single range support contract.
CoRE JV President USAF retired General Lance Lord said that LISC intends to standardise launch operations on the two coasts through consolidation and efficiencies to achieve significant cost savings for the USAF.
CoRE seeks to work with Air Force partners to achieve the range transformation operation while meeting the vital national mission of assured access to space, Lord explained.
Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Solutions Space & Cyber vice president Robert Smith said: "Collectively, the combined strengths of CoRE Services offer the depth of experience to provide the Air Force Space Command with a highly reliable solution that increases range availability, reduces sustainment costs and keeps the ranges operational today and in the future."
