FN Herstal awarded AS/EN 9100 certification

(Herstal, Belgium) - January 10, 2013. Belgium-based small-arms manufacturer FN Herstal has recently been certified to AS/EN 9100 aerospace standards, the most advanced Quality Management System (QMS) standards for aviation, space and defense
industries.

The successful quality certification granted by leader Bureau Veritas Certification results from a comprehensive site audit throughout all Departments of the organization, including Management, Sales and Marketing, R&D, Quality, Production, Purchasing and linked Services and Processes. It reflects FN Herstal's longstanding commitment to deliver consistent and world-class quality products and
associated services using the best practice systems in place at all levels within the organization.

FN Herstal has already been ISO 9001 certified for over a decade. The additional AS/EN 9100 certification, based on even more stringent requirements, is a strategic milestone for the Company, and will reinforce its leading position in designing, developing, manufacturing and supplying military grade firearms and integrated weapon systems for land, airborne and naval carriers to Military/Law Enforcement Agencies and Original Equipment Manufacturers all over the globe.
