General Dynamics wins $10bn US Army GTACS contract

General Dynamics has been selected as one of 20 contractors under the US Army's new Global Tactical Advanced Communications Systems (GTACS) and Services programme.

The programme enables the development and acquisition of communications equipment and technical support needed by the US Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal agencies.

The contract includes tactical command, control and communications system hardware, software, engineering, logistics, development, testing and systems-related support.

The five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract was awarded in October 2012 between multiple contractors. The maximum potential value of the contractstands at $10bn.
